The role is based out of South Asia.
The purpose of the Business as Missions (BAM) Coordinator is to help manage and create redemptive businesses owned/run by GFM Staff. The BAM Coordinator will also assist SLICE participants as they go through the intricate process of establishing and running a redemptive business in South Asia. This includes staying current on international business laws, government procedures and the processes that are needed to open, run, and close a successful Business as Mission. This ministry role can be both full time or part time and support-raising is required. The Business as Missions Coordinator has the ability to work on site and from home on a regular basis.
Required Qualifications
- Must personally embrace GFM’s purpose, vision, values and statement of faith and identify as a maturing believer in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
- Must possess a strong desire to learn the intricacies of business management in South Asia, to include (but not restricted to) understanding government policies, rules, regulations, processes and visa requirements
- Must have 3-5 years of proven human resource management and/or training roles
- Must possess experience in consulting, creating, developing, and assisting workers in finding the best way to use their gifts/strengths to further His kingdom in a community
- Must be ready to experience significant missions training and discipleship through the GFM Missionary Training School (in person sessions or online)
- Must demonstrate humility, teachability, and an ability to work well with others
- Must display advanced interpersonal and communication skills (Gmail, Slack, etc.)
- Must function well both independently and in a team environment
Recommended Experience
- A College Degree is preferred but not required; informal trainings in business management, business development, consulting, networking, leadership, and/or ministry will also be taken into consideration
- Three to five years of proven business and management roles in a developing or third world country OR five to ten years of business and management roles in a first world country are desired for one to be considered for this position
Key Responsibilities
- Network with business and Business as Mission (BAM) professionals in South Asia to develop and maintain strategic partnerships that allow our SLICE participants to receive coaching, support and opportunities for a credible identity in local redemptive businesses
- Coach participants in crafting an identity that makes sense to the government, local people and their supporters
- Train/encourage SLICE participants regarding the importance of having a solid identity in their community and the access it provides among unreached peoples
- Become an expert on opening, closing and running redemptive businesses in South Asia
- Learn the intricacies of managing a redemptive business in South Asia. This includes (but is not restricted to) becoming familiar with ever-changing government policies, rules, regulations, processes and visa requirements for international and local businesses.
- Oversee current redemptive businesses being run by GFM SA staff and make sure that they are in compliance with the rules and regulations of the country.
- Liaison with accountants, bookkeeper and other administration personnel to keep businesses legally and financially sound.
